About World Vintage

Founded October 2020 by James Cameron it began as nothing but a passion for fashion (pardon the pun). Vintage fashion more specifically. After watching a programme on the waste clothing crisis in Ghana called ‘The Secret Life of Your Clothes’ (a must watch) it shocked me, the impact our current ways are having around the world and on the planet all unseen and oblivious to us.

After carefully sourcing the first few pieces of clothing it was only time before some sales started to trickle in. Doing it all from home the consistent deliveries and littering of clothing items around the house, it was safe to say I was encouraged to move the busines into the garage. This gave our family the dining room, landing, spare bedroom and kitchen table back! But it didn't stop there. It just gave me more space to fill / grow into. The garage began to look like a hoarders attic with clothes and boxes stacked to the rafters.

But then it started to seep back into the house. Thats when domestics began (nothing serious no need to contact NSPCC), but my parents were not happy. Trying to keep the peace my brother would step in and try to offer solutions. Before he knew it he was getting involved himself picking and packing and helping to prepare the clothes. It wasnt long before I found him wearing some of the garms and asking if he could keep them as payment.

It was clear he was beginning to share my interest in vintage clothing. By October 2021 he wanted in on the World Vintage idea and ethos. Already running two businesses of his own he wanted to be involved in a new project. Shortly after, we outgrew the garage and in February 2022 we embarked on our first World Vintage premises. This currently houses over three tonnes of quality vintage garments saved from landfill where they are re-conditioned and re-worked ready for sale. Our first purpose built photo booth and office space.

As of March 2022, we are proud to have had well over 1,000 sales and almost 1,500 pieces listed all being dispatched using fully recyclable packaging free of plastics!
